Is anyone in HL theatre right now? I have some questions. There are only two of us in our class and we are kind of confused. We are working on the collaborative project at the moment.

I started off in that class but I dropped it lol. But I might be able to help as I am somewhat well informed about the course.

Hey Kylie
I have a bunch of friends who are doing HL Theatre, I'm sure they'll be able to help you. They currently dont have a smartib account but I can ask them personally and get back to you.

Hi this is Maria's friend in HL theatre
So basically its when the whole class gets together to make a play from scratch. You are responsible for lights, script, costume, music. Anything and everything. I'm in IB 1 now so i have not started the official one but we have done a lot of research and practice for it. If you have any questions I'll answer them but i think u can find everything on the IBO website.

Hey, doing a collaborative projects with only 2 students is actually pretty hard, maybe some monologues and add a bit of dialogues to it that somehow able for u and ur friend to still being connected each other.
Or do something that uses props as the main role instead of dialogues, like shadows or etc

Hey I’m in year 2 for HL theatre- I’m doing my final collab right now. What we do is we basically each find a starting point (song, quote, picture, etc) and brainstorm a plot, message, target audience, impact, set, costumes, lighting, sound, etc that could come from it. Sky’s the limit. Then we workshop/improv pieces of it to see what works and what doesn’t. As long as you keep your message and impact in mind, it’s not that hard and you can tailor your process as you go. As it is a group of 2, maybe do a piece about the relationship between those people? Multiple perspectives of a singular event? Idk it’s up to you. But that’s just how to get started. :)
