hey everybody, I have chosen to do my EE in english a langlit because I truly love this subject; however, I’m struggling to choose a valid topic that won’t be too “english-b”-ey, and I’m thinking about analysing Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” for that purpose. anyone ever done that or something of the kind and could give their opinion on that? whether it’s really worth doing poetry for english ee?

Hey! I did my EE on English A Lang. Lit.
I wouldn’t really opt for songs, like DAMN, because there really is nothing much to elucidate upon on a high level.
I would suggest novels or poetry. I did mine on category II (Russian and English) for novels. I am sure you will find what is the most appropriate.
All the best!

What you could always do if you're absolutely set on choosing songs for your EE is a comparative essay. You could take two songs and compare the different aspects of it, like the structure, the intentions and the lyrics. I know this is a vague recommendation but hopefully it helps inspire you :)
