I'm in the second year of visual art Hl but still confused despite going through the guide.Should all our studio work be linked to the comparative study? my theme is about my region- the tribal people.festivals and landscapes and so far my comparative has been about tribal art and primitivism but since I'm also doing landscapes on oil apart from that,do I have to include about the style used in the work for eg artists like monet etc

Hey buddy

in my school only one of your works should be connected with both of the artists you compare. obs you can use the artists for multiple works, but its recommended you do one work with SUPER clear influences!!

This might be a late response? But I can tell you what it is like at my school. We have chosen three art works, from at least 2 different artists and from different cultures. Then we have done a formal analysis on them, compared and contrasted, and now we're going to do at least two art pieces inspired by those we've chosen. My main piece is 'nighthawks' by Edward Hopper, and Banksy's and Gottfried Helnweins interpretation of it!! Hope that helped?? I mean, you can do as many things as you want in that theme for you portfolio and exhibition but I think there shouldn't be more than three in your CS

I'd recommend linking at least two with the artists in your comparative.
