Hi, I will be beginning the IBDP in autumn and will be taking my first language Icelandic as self-taught. I do not really know how it works taking a subject as self-taught and the teachers are not really able to give me any answers about it. So, I was hoping that someone here knows how it works and what requirements I need to meet.

Basically, you will need to choose 10 books (they are divided into part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4) these different parts are different tasks so to say. During the two years you won't have many tasks but it will be challenging, some tasks include writing a journal, your interactive oral and writting your essay. Now this can also depend on your school, but if you have access to get in touch with a teacher who teaches Icelandic, do so, it will make you life a lot easier. I have Swedish self taught and my school wasn't able to provide me a "supervisor" but for some other languages they did.
And don't worry, þetta reddast :)

But how did you choose your books? Is there some list you choose from or can you just choose any book you want?
