Hi everybody. This is the time of year when stress starts to pile up along with the due dates. What do you guys do so that you’re not overwhelmed completely??

Hang out at my friend’s home or mine and just eat good food and talk

Talk with people that are equally stressed- it seems counterintuitive but it’s relieving to know that you’re not alone. I always find it helpful to make a really detailed list for the week including even things like showering and eating and it feels good to slowly tick them all off and realise that it’s possible to finish as your list gets smaller

Wait isn't it Christmas break in like a week? How are you stressed? Btw I just gradually move along when stressed and doing what I would do anyways

@Sky my school has a finals week next week before we have Christmas break. Just gives me more to do than I really need.

If I’m feeling stressed, I’ll pull an all nighter. Even if it kinda wrecks my next day at school, it gives me a jumpstart on things and I feel very in control of my time management

Just finished my exams yesterday. My method to deal with stress was to start preparing early and knowing your stuff. This way you actually are somewhat confident in yourself and aren’t as worried and overwhelmed

@sky don't you have any IAs or TOK essay to finish up during Christmas break?

@aye.bee It's just like people say; either work for hours during the last week or 1-2h everyday. I recommend right after breakfast&shower as you are fresh and not in a "I'll do it later mood"

i say start things as early as possible. it’s an overused advice, but that’s bc it’s true. during your break, dedicate some time on your IAs and EE. doesn’t have to be long hours: 1-2 hrs a day will do.

as for stress relief i like to do smth that requires a lot of attention to details. one example is building. tot stores usually sell this one box of metal parts that you can build into monuments such as the eiffel tower. it’s made of metal and has to be screwed and bolted, thus takes more effort. i like it bc it distracts me from the stress for a while, and as napping makes you wake up more tired, i prefer to be more active during my free time.
